The winter flu and Covid-19 vaccination programme is now available for all eligible people to get vaccinated to help protect them from becoming seriously unwell from common winter viruses that circulate more during winter.
- From Wednesday 1 October 2025, those at increased risk from severe illness can get the flu and/or Covid-19 vaccine, a full list of all eligible people can be found here: bit.ly/vaccinationnews
- Pregnant women are also urged to have their RSV and whooping cough vaccines to protect their babies from contracting these viruses that can cause serious illness particularly to babies born during the colder winter months.
- Young children are also being offered the nasal flu vaccine which is given in school to all school aged children and at the GP practice for those aged 2 – 3 years old.
To help make it as easy as possible to get vaccinated in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, all eligible people are now able to book a vaccination appointment or attend a walk-in vaccination clinic.
If you or anyone in your care is eligible, you do not need to wait for an invitation to book your vaccine. Our GP practice will be providing the flu and/or Covid-19 vaccination to our patients this winter, you can speak to our reception staff about our vaccination clinics. In addition to clinics offered by our practice all eligible patients can still get vaccinated in the community at a walk-in clinic or by booking an appointment at a time and location to suit you.
