Our practice will no longer be providing pre-travel advice.
If you’re planning a trip outside the UK, it’s important to whether you need travel vaccinations. Some vaccines are available free of charge on the NHS, while others must be arranged privately.
Vaccinations entitled to you on the NHS include:
- Diphtheria, Tetanus and Polio
- Typhoid
- Hepatitis A
- Cholera
If a vaccine is not on this list, it is not covered by the NHS and will have to be sought privately.
Travel Risk Assessments
The Practice are no longer carrying out travel risk assessments. These must now be obtained from a private travel assessor, and there may be a charge depending on the pharmacy you choose.
To allow us to provide any free NHS travel vaccinations, you must supply a completed travel risk assessment form from a private assessor. This must include:
- Travel destination(s)
- Dates of Travel
- Risk assessments (such as medication risks given your current medications)
- Planned activities
- Required vaccinations for your trip.
This document must be dated and signed by the travel risk assessor. We will only accept the complete and proper risk assessment form to ensure patient safety.
Important Information:
- Please allow a minimum of 8 weeks before travel to make the necessary arrangements.
- To complete your risk assessment, you will need your vaccine history and a list of your current medications.
